Reflections and 100 Blog Posts! (Plus a Smoothie Recipe!)
This is officially my 100th blog post on this blog! Woo hoo!
I know that’s not really a lot considering how long I’ve had this blog, but 100 is still a pretty cool number. I have since disciplined myself into writing every single week. Come to think of it, 51 of my blog posts came from a 50 day period of writing every day, and the other 49 were written over 7 months. It just goes to show what the simple act of writing every day can do! I have a lot of great pieces of content on my blog that might not have been written if I hadn’t done a daily blogging challenge!
This is true in almost anything we do. You have to go through the sand to find the diamonds – It’s often a numbers’ game. For every great piece of art, there are many failures. Not that some of my posts were failures! I’m just saying that the few blog posts I wrote that got a lot of attention and praise were written because I was in the habit of writing every day. Ideas came more naturally because I was in the mode of thinking up new ones constantly.
That said, I would also like to give you all a quick update on my Praxis journey!
I have finished most of the program (including a value proposition where I pitched a sales idea to a real business! They unfortunately never responded), and am now heading into the interview and placement process. I am very excited! Soon, I’ll know whether I’m moving out (for the first time ever!), which apprenticeship position I will be placed in, and when I’m starting my new job.
I have learned so much through this program! The most valuable piece of information I have gained is that confidence, innovation, and competence in a chosen field can trump a college marketing, sales, or operations degree (and arguably others). People don’t care where you came from as long as you got to the desired destination.
OKAY – Here is your free smoothie recipe! It’s kind of your prize from me for making it to 100 posts. Just roll with it, okay?
Back in October/November, I did a 28 day reset and couldn’t eat certain foods. I did it for various reasons and you can read about it in another blog post.
Because of this temporary diet, I created this smoothie so I could get a nice, nutritious meal that tasted delicious, was good for me, and also fell within the diet’s boundaries.
Blender experiments don’t always end well. Why is that? You take a bunch of stuff you normally like separately, and it ends up tasting gross when mixed together. Oh well.
Luckily, I have already done the experimenting for you, and have come up with this delicious mixed fruit-banana-peanut butter smoothie 😊
You will need the following ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups of mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries)
- 1 banana
- ¼ cup chocolate protein powder
- 1 cup water
- 1 ½ tablespoons of peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon of honey
These ingredients are not all that hard to acquire and can be found at any of your local grocery stores. Assembly is easy. Just add the ingredients in the order that they are listed above.
There you have it!
(So, I just re-read this post, and I realize that the smoothie thing was a super random change in topic. Oh well. I like smoothies, and this recipe came out of blogging. I found it in a folder and apparently I was going to post it back in November, but that didn’t end up happening so I’m posting it now! And without blogging, I would have forgotten about this recipe, so there!).
Here’s to 100 blog posts, and many more to come!
Until next time,
Hope Frances
