My SEO Strategy (Including Demo Walk-Through!)

To learn more about the world of SEO, I dove into a content immersion for 7 hours.  I read blog articles, watched videos, and took a ton of notes.

But what good would that do me if all I did was research?  I needed to implement what I was learning.

Actually, the first thing I did was research project management and how to be more productive with my time.  That resulted in this article:

Excel Task Tracker Template to Get More Work Done (Free Download!)

I used the SEO strategies I’ve been learning to do keyword research for that article and to write it.  Although it was written yesterday, it has jumped to number 3 on my most popular pages list for the week, and number 9 for the month.

Today, I wrote another blog article for New Vision Engineering, an engineering contracting company I work for, using the same SEO techniques.  The video below shows in 5 minutes what I took 2 hours to do:

3 Effective Tools to Bring in Two Months’ Worth of Additional Revenue per Year

*Note – I changed the title of the article mentioned in the video after doing some more research.

Here is the checklist I used for keyword research in the video.

This project was fascinating to me.  I loved learning more about SEO and being able to use my skills for real-life writings.  I think it improved my writing because I was forced to come up with a basic outline and title while doing more research on my topic, and I know will be doing more research on my blog topics from now on.

SEO is constantly changing – and keeping up with current SEO events by reading blogs and watching videos is crucial.  But the most important thing is to keep practicing your SEO skills.  Nothing beats practice and experience – especially if you have a hunger to learn and get better!

This project is the beginning of my SEO learning, but certainly not the end.
