My Thoughts On CB Productions’ Romeo and Juliet

Tonight I had the honor of watching many of my very good friends perform an extremely amazing showing of Romeo and Juliet.

They were absolutely stunning 🙂

I have been in two CB Productions shows – Emma and Robin Hood – and enjoyed both immensely.  This is a theater company run entirely by teenagers, and it’s run at the professional level (and I do mean professional.  They take their shows so seriously).

This was opening night for Romeo and Juliet, and they knocked it out of the park!  It was AMAZING!  I was laughing, on the edge of my seat, and wanting to cry all in the same night, so, 5 out of 5 stars for real!  If you can, PLEASE go see this show!  I can’t even begin to say how incredible it is.  The set was breathtaking, and every single actor or actress that graced the stage was fully committed to the performance.

Those who argue that Shakespeare’s boring will find themselves reconsidering their opinion after this show.  The actors and actresses do such an amazing job bringing their characters to life and using physical actions with their lines to convey the story and help the audience understand the meaning of the words!

As an alumnus, I cannot look at their shows in the same way.  Before I knew all those people, I was just amazed at the talent (and I still am).  When I was participating in them, I felt honored and blessed to be around such an inspiring and talented group of actors and actresses.  Now I’m on the other side and I’m still in awe of their talent, but I also notice something more.  A couple different somethings, actually.

First, I notice and appreciate their hard work and dedication.  Every single line spoken was not spoken just to be spoken.  They are THINKING the ENTIRE time.  That’s not easy to do.

Secondly, I notice their passion 🙂  Every one of them loves what they do and pours their entire self into the piece of art they are creating.

Finally, I am filled with pride.  I am so incredibly proud of all of those amazing people!  They are my theater family 🙂  So, from me to the Romeo and Juliet cast – You all did a fantastic job and I can’t even express how proud I am of you!

Shout out to David Mott and Miriam Warren (Romeo and Juliet)!  You both were phenomenal and I can see all of the hard work and effort you both put into your roles!

To be honest, all of you were so amazing and this post would be like 100 times longer if I expressed just HOW amazing each of you are!

Last but not least, I want to thank the director, Carla Barwineck, for creating this wonderful theater company and for being my director last year 🙂  She is an amazing teacher and it was a pleasure working with her!

So, recap…

GO SEE THE SHOW!  No excuses 😛

Until next time,

Hope Frances
