A Simple Method to Cure Sadness

Today I am posting out of appreciation.  There are so many things I have to be grateful for that I take for granted sometimes.

When you are worried about something or just depressed, list out the first 20 things that come to mind that you’re most thankful for.  IT WILL WORK – Trust me.  It’s impossible to think about bad things when you’re filling your head with good things!

Here it goes!

First, I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for everything in my life!  The following things I am thankful for would not even be possible without Him.

So, I am thankful that…

  1. I am saved by grace!
  2. I live in a country that allows me to worship God freely, to vote, and that protects me from both outside and inside forces.
  3. I have amazing parents who love me and believe in me.
  4. I have two wonderful siblings – and they are my some of my best friends.
  5. My parents decided to homeschool me.
  6. I have a home to live in.
  7. My parents were able to build a house for my grandparents to move in with us.
  8. I never have to worry about where my next meal comes from.
  9. I have access to education and can take as much of it as I want.
  10. I am part of an incredible business community that encourages me to win.
  11. I have a job that teaches me real-life skills.
  12. I am a part of the Praxis program 🙂
  13. My parents encouraged me to become a big reader from a young age.
  14. My family is very close-knit and loving.
  15. I have an amazing community of friends from the acting world, and many of them have become my best friends.
  16. My family and I are healthy.
  17. I have amazing grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins 🙂
  18. I was encouraged to think like an entrepreneur at a young age.
  19. I was taught to set goals.
  20. I have various big dreams for my future, and that I have talents and passions that I am excited to use for good!

Those are just the first 20 that pop into my head…I’m sure I will think of more later!

But just writing down those 20 things made me happier and more joyful.  I would encourage you to do the same!  Try having a bad attitude while thinking of all the things you have to be thankful for.

I bet you can’t do it.

Until next time,

Hope Frances
