Seasons
Do you realize how easy it is to get into a rut? Apparently, it’s rather easy. You wake up, go to work, come home, workout, make dinner, shower, and go to bed. Repeat. The weekend is spent buying food, doing laundry, and cleaning up your living space. Sometimes, work is done on the weekend as well.
And you know what? That’s not a bad thing.
In life, I have recognized that I have been through many seasons. There was the season of childhood, where I didn’t really have any responsibilities, and I played with friends every day. There was the season of high school, where I learned how to buckle down and do work under a timeline. There was the season of my life where I was on the path of self-education and working part-time where I learned part of my direction in life.
Now, I’m in the season of learning how to be an adult and having my first full-time job, and I’m learning A LOT. Most of it, I can’t pin down right now, but one big thing has been being able to figure out life problems without having direct access to people who would normally help me solve those issues.
My point is, I’m not in a rut. I’m in a season. Seasons aren’t bad, they just exist. They just are. Seasons are necessary to make you who you are – they add to the layers of your life.
To be clear, I am enjoying this season of my life. I believe you need to enjoy it. Seasons come and go whether I like it or not, so I might as well enjoy it! Because it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.
So if you feel like you’re stuck, or exhausted all of the time, embrace it. It’s just a season, and it’ll shape you into the person God wants you to be – if you’ll let him.
Until next time,
Hope Frances
