Race for Freedom (Part 2!)

Hey everyone!

I’m sure you remember that last year, I started a marketing campaign to benefit Operation Underground Railroad (a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing children from human trafficking all around the world).  If you haven’t heard about that amazing journey, you can read all about it here:

Race for Freedom

To recap, I was not accepted into Praxis on my first go-around, so I started this fundraising marketing campaign centered around Operation Underground Railroad.  The initial purpose of the project was to give me experience in running a marketing campaign, but it became so much more than that.  I was given the opportunity to experience a team at work – their hearts all beating in unison for a cause and burning in righteous anger towards the evil being committed against these children.

It was more emotional than I thought it would be, and that moment where we pulled together and one top money raiser at a Life Leadership event was so magical.  To think of all those kids who would now be free because a group of people were willing to work so hard – it was truly overwhelming.

First, my dad (Terry Szymanski) ran a marathon.  Yup.  26.2 miles (and then performed 26.2 push-ups at the convention – watch here).  And all the crazy outfits he wore (if people donated a certain amount they got to pick an outfit) just made running it that much harder.  But he did it, and this year, he said he would do it AGAIN!

What?  Why?

For the kids.

(gotta love those hashtags!  I mean, I am a marketing intern 😉 )

So, this blog post is being written to officially announce the existence of Race for Freedom – PART 2!

The donation website is still pending…We’ll have that up very soon!

There was a video on our Facebook page that announced this as well, and it’s pretty awesome so you should watch it (plus blooper reels XD)

Here’s the awesome part:

Jeff Moulton, who was injured and unable to run last year, has agreed to run the marathon WITH Terry this year!  But that’s not all…

We are inviting those of you who are interested to join the fight and run with us in the Twin Cities Marathon!  If you are unable (or not interested) in running a marathon, there are 5K and 10K races the day before that you can do and still be part of the Race for Freedom team!  If you are interested, contact our Facebook page through Messenger or email us at our.ll.fundraiser@gmail.com.

We will be running multiple events and doing some fun things along the way to make an even bigger impact this year, and we are super excited to see what God does!

What are you waiting for?

Join the fight!

Let’s go!

Until next time,

Hope Frances
