A Cause Worth Fighting For
Today was a busy day for me, my family, some of our close friends, and especially for my dad.
You see, today was the day of the Twin Cities Marathon. We’d been working hard for about a month raising donations for Operation Underground Railroad, and it all climaxed today at the race. Well, when I say “we” I mean Terry did the majority of the work (being that he ran the entire marathon and all), and I did some behind the scenes work.
And it was worth it.
We have raised $4,391 so far, and we have a very generous friend who has agreed to be our “Anonymous Match Donor” up to $10,000, and a corporate donor who is matching everything up to $500,000. So we’ve actually raised $17,564.
Wow.
Now that number isn’t just a number. That number represents REAL children in REAL, UGLY, circumstances that can be rescued now because of you. It represents REAL parents with REAL kids who can now be restored to them. It represents hope.
Terry didn’t run a marathon in the miserable rainy weather just to tell people how amazing he was for accomplishing it. Anyone can do that. He didn’t endure the pain in his legs, feet, and chest for himself.
No.
He did it for the kids. For the millions of innocent children who are enslaved to human trafficking around the globe, even right here in the Twin Cities. And that’s why I am so proud of him! He is a phenominal husband and father, and he has such servant heart!
That’s why we are asking you:
Please pray for those kids and their parents and families!
Some “thank you’s” are in order as well:
Thank you to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for giving my dad and I the idea of starting this campaign, and for the success we’ve had so far. We pray that the money we have raised and continue to raise will bless many children’s lives and the lives of their families.
I would also like to thank my mom, who has been a great help with making sure we were all organized and catching the little things I didn’t notice 🙂
Thank you to Jeff Moulton, for videoing and taking pictures during the race to help our supporters stay involved, for running a part of the race with Terry to cheer him on, and for being Terry’s trainer for the race!
Thank you to Josh Hall, for driving me, my mom, and my brother around downtown St Paul and Minneapolis through confusing city streets and frustrating traffic 🙂
Thank you to Krista Davis, John Anderson, and Kristine Oppong, for coming to the race to cheer Terry on and for donating to the cause!
And thank you Terry (dad :)), for running the marathon even though it hurt like crazy, and for training even though it was tough! I love you so much and you are such an inspiration to me. I am so incredibly proud of you, and I am so honored to have you as my dad 🙂
Lastly (but certainly not least!), thank you for everyone who donated! You guys are amazing, and you have such amazing hearts! May God bless you!
Our fundraiser, Race for Freedom, will remain open until October 13th in case you haven’t had a chance to donate yet.

This is a great victory for us, but more importantly, for the Lord! I am so blessed to know each and every one of you!
There’s something about having a cause to fight for. To help someone who can’t help themselves or pay you back in any way. These are the ones God has called upon us to protect and serve.
If you don’t have a cause you’d be willing to FIGHT for, something that LIGHTS YOU ON FIRE, please go find one. Because that’s where you find your purpose, that’s where you find your fulfillment.
Love you all!
Until next time,
Hope Frances
